THE SOLUTION OFFERED

               BY SELF-POWERED

               LIGHTING IS IDEAL FOR

               AREAS AFFECTED BY THE

               ENERGY DIVIDE.

Public lighting is a commodity that
western populations have enjoyed for over
a century. There are, however, many regions
worldwide where lighting would represent a
powerful driver of growth. On the African continent
for example, 70% of the population does not have
access to electricity. Access to energy services helps
reduce poverty, enhances safety and health protection. It
encourages young people to study and enables populations to
get together for gatherings, reinforcing social bonds.
In 2011, Dakar, the capital of Senegal, implemented solar-powered
public lighting. ERT, the company managing the project, welcomes the 7
change brought about by this operation, which represented a genuine
breakthrough for the city's inhabitants: "The students of the University
of Dakar can now study outside, on the waterfront, making the most
of the cool of the evening. In the event of a power cut, inhabitants
can be seen to converge on points fitted with solar lighting
columns. The peanut salesman can ply his trade safely." says
               Mr. Ndiaye, CEO of ERT.

Convinced that self-powered lighting is an ideal
solution for populations affected by the energy
divide, Novéa and the Groupe Ragni have
placed equipping the concerned regions at
               the core of their objectives.
