The North Coastal Path extends over 3 towns, to offer a family course of cycling and pedestrian activities. On the territory of the Municipality of Sainte-Marie, it passes particularly near the long runway of Roland Garros Airport and the fishing and marina port of Sainte-Marie. As a veritable space for preserving the environment, this path is now lit by solar energy with autonomous street lights of Novéa Energies. A customised project, adapted in particular to the constraints linked to the proximity of the airport. CINOR (Intercommunal Community of Northern Reunion) offers relaxation and leisure areas all along its coast. The path runs alongside the fishing and marina port and its 180 mooring rings, before passing below the Bois-Madame Park, converted into play areas and sports courses. The North Coastal Path welcomes families, tourists, walkers ... To secure this wooded path of about 1km long, located at the end of the airport runways and which runs along the coast, the community wanted to provide environmentally friendly and efficient lighting. The autonomous street lamps from Novéa Energies meet the specifications perfectly, with a Combi Top 3 offering 185Wp panels and an 819 Wh battery, for efficient lighting all over the year. The proximity of the airport, however, requires some adjustments, as the solar lighting sets should not interfere with air traffic. Thus, of the 51 installed street lights, 20 have a light height of 7 meters and the rest, the autonomous lampposts closest to the airport, have a light height of 3,5 meters. The photovoltaic panels on the poles have specific glass which reduces sparkles, so as not to dazzle pilots when approaching the airport. Finally, all the boxes under the panels, receiving the NOVBOX (which contain the endurance + batteries and the electronic boards), have been equipped with anti-nesting railings. Here, the goal is to limit the presence of birds that might be attracted to this part of the solar lighting set. Indeed, a large number of birds could, in the long term, impair the proper functioning of the airport if they flew too close to the runways. As the path is also close to the Indian Ocean, the poles have received a seashore treatment to resist corrosion over time. All these solar street lights are composed by a St Luc bracket with a Ragni TEKK S luminaire. The finish was made in red RAL 2100. To best serve users, 4 of these autonomous street lamps offer a Novload USB unit, allowing passers-by to charge their phones. And the street lights are programmed to light for 5:30 hours after dusk and for 2 hours before dawn, to secure the place throughout its use. The 51 solar lighting sets were installed a few weeks ago on the North Coastal Path, for safe walks and environmentally friendly lighting.
