21 autonomous solar lamp posts were installed at the Pointe au Sel in Saint-Leu in Réunion Island (974). Thanks to their wooden mast, the street light melt perfectly in the landscape of the Pointe au Sel which is a protected and classified sensitive site. This site, until now devoid of lighting, is now secure for vehicles and pedestrians through the lighting of the access road to homes and the Salt Museum. These street lamps of the COMBI TOP 2 model are equipped with a 100 Wp high efficiency solar panel, a 704 Wh energy storage battery park and a GRIFF S luminaire delivering a lighting power of 20 W for 3 200 lumens. ENDURANCE + technology developed by Novea offers 10 years warranty for more than 20 years of service life. This battery, known as the most efficient on the market, was developed with CEA Grenoble after more than seven years of research and development. As for operation, the GRIFF S LED luminaire lights up in full power at dusk and for the next four hours. After these four hours, the 50 % standby mode with presence detection is activated until one hour before dawn, when the luminaire switches back to full power until it turns off. This management gives our standalone lamps a great autonomy and a long battery life. The lighting system with presence detection makes it possible to better manage the use of sustainable energy, positioning this neighborhood in an ecological dynamic. The choice of the autonomous was done naturally, in an approach of saving of energy but also for a reason of cost. In traditional wired electric solution, this isolated site would have required heavy road works for the connection to the electrical network (trench, road repair, setting up of the network …).
