The port of Dakar, Senegal, is now lit by 50 autonomous streetlights Novea. This installation of solar autonomous lampposts brings comfort and safety to the users of the Port. The port of Dakar is one of the largest maritime crossroads in the world, thanks to its privileged geographical location at the most advanced point of the West African coast and its exceptional site. This deep-water port is one of the places where the beams traced on the globe converge by the maritime transport axes. The port of Dakar is one of the few ports on the West African coast where ships of all categories can access at any time thanks to the exceptional water conditions of the site and perfect markup. To ensure the safety and comfort of the port users at nightfall, 50 COMBI TOP 5 streetlights with TEKK M luminaires were installed. These street lamps, with a eight meters light height, are equipped with a photovoltaic panel of 260 Wp and a battery Endurance + Technology of 1 638 Wh to store the energy produced. The distance between the different pole is 22 meters, in order to obtain an homogeneous lighting, without dark zone between lampposts. For maximum security, this autonomous lighting works at full power all night long. The ground result of 20 lux obtained, as well as the luminous flux of 7,200 lumens speak for themselves concerning the quality of the lighting of these autonomous solar lampposts. With the help of international laboratories, Novea applies a scientific approach to create and develop reliable, sustainable products adapted to the environmental specificities of each geographical area. Our streetlights are equipped with batteries with Endurance + Technology, which, thanks to its Lithium LiFePO4 cells and its unique management of energy flows, offers the longest life of the market. Seven years of R& D (in partnership with CEA Grenoble) and industrialization allowed us to develop this unique battery. LiFePO4 batteries have been scientifically recognized as the most efficient and best suited to the solar street lighting market. The choice of Lithium Iron Phosphate over other battery technologies has been in terms of service life, high temperature resistance and energy efficiency. The Lithium cell selected by Novea has undergone, in the laboratory, early aging tests under extreme temperature conditions in order to validate its longevity. The solar streetlights are completely autonomous, which makes it possible not to suffer of the instabilities of the electric network, and thus to offer a constant and quality lighting thanks to the solar field of the country and a technology of energy storage of high quality. Their installation is simple, because only a concrete block is sufficient for anchoring on the ground.
