FIRST INSTALLATION OF NOVEA SOLAR LIGHTING SOLUTIONS IN UGANDA

As part of a FASEP in Uganda, 75 solar lighting solutions have been installed in the towns of Entebbe, Mukono and Jinja in order to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants by securing public spaces and enabling the economic development of the territory.

A FASEP (Fund for Studies and Assistance to the Private Sector) aims to finance a demonstration of innovative and green technologies, here French autonomous solar lighting. This demonstrator allows to prove the effectiveness of our products and our technology in the country of installation.

The purpose of FASEP is also to provide municipalities with a complete solution, combining financing, studies, supply of solar street lights, installation and maintenance.

In this context, Novéa Energies was associated with FONDEM (La Fondem – Fondation Énergies pour le Monde) which was responsible for the studies and coordination of the project.

The latter being composed of 75 Combi Top 3 6 meters high and equipped with the Tekk S luminaire and the St Luc bracket.

25 sets must be installed in each of these 3 towns in Uganda: Entebbe, Mukono and Jinja (on the map).

In order to supervise the installation of the autonomous lighting solutions, 2 members of our team went on site. To date, Katabi Market and Kiwfu Road in Entebbe have been finalised. Mukono town is being set up and installation in Jinja town will start this month.

The solar lighting solutions have been programmed to light up at 100% for 5 hours at dusk and then go on dimming mode at 50% the rest of the night and this until sunrise. This programming, studied as close as possible to the need, allows to save energy.

In addition, our communicating motion detection system Novéa Control has been integrated in order to manage the solar lighting solutions remotely. Indeed, this solution allows to geolocate lighting points, control the program (duration and lighting power) and have efficient maintenance thanks to precise feedback of information and performance measurements. Thus, the installation of autonomous solar lighting solutions allows to improve the safety of the inhabitants and their living conditions but also to reinforce the attractiveness of the territory which will make it possible to develop economic activities.
