Leroy Merlin Le Port is the biggest of Reunion Island. It is seen as an example in environmentally friendly building with a global approach of sustainable development. This commitment is particularly visible outside of the store, with the installation of 33 solar streetlamps on the air part of its car park. The project was ambitious: to propose an efficient and ecological store. Leroy Merlin have totally met the challenge with several ecologically responsible solutions: LED lighting, high-performance air-conditioning system or solar hot water production. For its external lighting, the company has opted for autonomous streetlamps of Novéa Energies, French solar sets equal to their quality requirements. After defining the lighting level and the place specificities, it was decided to install two different models of solar lampposts: 27 COMBI TOP 3 of 7 and 8m high, and 6 COMBI TOP 5 of 7m high. These poles are either with one fire (for 13 of them) or with double fire (for 20 of them). This repartition is the result of a true partnership between the client and the autonomous lighting manufacturer, as confirm M. Serge CONGOST, project manager: “The exchanges were good and relevant with Novea”. The solution is adapted to meet precisely users’ needs and to propose a reasoned and environmentally respectful lighting. The energy management is also optimised thanks to a lighting scenario defined by the store: 3h of lighting after dusk. Therefore, solar streetlamps are operating only when it is necessary to secure the customers reception. To commit durably in energy savings, Leroy Merlin chose the solution Novea Control by Novea Energies, which allows a remote monitoring of autonomous lampposts. The store will be able to verify the operating status of its solar sets, but also their energy consumption. And it could ask the manufacturer for a remote reprogramming of streetlamps if the opening hours change for example. For the materials, the autonomous solutions have received a seashore treatment. This layer aimed to reinforce the protection for areas with high and extreme corrosion. The store wanted a simple colour to vanish in environment. Poles were painted with Ral 7016, anthracite, for a natural appearance as explain M. CONGOST “The design is interesting”. The chosen luminaires are Griff XL of Ragni, with St Luc bracket. The resulted set offers a reliable and sustainable product, which will light customers during numerous years. Therefore, Leroy Merlin Le Port is lighting its car park in an environmentally responsible way with solar streetlamps of Novea Energies. Another project is also studied to extend solar lighting to People with Reduced Mobility’s area of the car park.
