Autonomous lighting poles of Novéa fit in well in green spaces of Dumbéa city, in New Caledonia

The city of Dumbéa is situated at the edge of the capital Nouméa, by the seaside. It offers two beautiful green spaces to residentials: Serge Agathe Nerine route and route of heart. Both spaces are lighted by Novéa solar lighting solutions.

The route of Serge Agathe Nerine (formerly the Green Crescent) is equipped with 27 chocolate brown solar lighting poles, designed and sized to meet users needs. The route of heart is situated further away, below the town hall, and offers a path of 700m dedicated to cardio, accessible as sportsperson, as family. It’s lighted by 34 autonomous lighting poles, identical to the ones of first route, needs being the same.

But what are the uses in this park? Different peoples meet during their leisure activities, all over the day and the evening. So the lighting solution has to be efficient during 5h after the dusk. Then, it has to secure the spaces by having, all over the night, a lighting at 40% of its capacity.

Novéa has realised its three complementary studies to size the project the most precisely. The amount of sunshine in this area is important, so we suggest the model COMBI TOP 2, with a solar panel of 100 Wp and a battery ENDURANCE + TECHNOLOGY of 532 Wh. This combination is the most relevant to ensure the desired programming, with an optimised energy management, at the best value for money.

Once the technical aspect is sized to meet the needs, we focused on product design with finishing touches. This is why solar lighting poles are equipped with luminaires TEKK S of Ragni company (whose Novéa is a subsidiary), major product in public lighting, and are coated with a nice chocolate RAL, to vanish into park environment.

Finally, to ensure the long lasting of the product, the poles (sized according to EN40 norm for cyclonic areas) received a seaside special treatment reinforced by a thermo lacquering. The treatment consists in adding an ultra-resisting epoxy coating which protects durably metal pieces against corrosion. Then the thermo lacquering add a robust protection against bad weather and UV rays.

The solution was defined, from the technical characteristics to design, to meet the most precisely the city requirements. It is composed by sustainable and designed solar lighting poles which find rapidly their place in city parks.
