14 autonomous solar lamp posts, model COMBI TOP 3 GRIFF S were installed in the city of PORT, a French overseas town, located in the department of Reunion. It was necessary to improve the safety of a bicycle lane by providing lighting points. In traditional wired electrical solution it would have had to network but it was too expensive. The objective of this project was to secure the road all night by limiting civil works and electrical connection. The solar lighting solution with a stand-alone lamp was the most appropriate technical and economic solution. These stand-alone streetlights are composed of a 160 Wp solar photovoltaic panel, an 819 Wh energy storage battery, Endurance + lithium technology ensuring a lifetime of more than 10 years and electronic regulation. Endurance + technology, developed by Novea, thanks to its Lithium LiFePO4 cells and its unique management of energy flows, offers the longest life of the market. LiFePO4 batteries have been scientifically recognized as the most efficient and best suited to the solar street lighting market. As for the operation, the GRIFF S LED luminaire switches on at twilight in full power for 5 hours, then goes to standby at 40% until it turns off at dawn. This management gives our solar lamp a great autonomy and a long battery service life. The choice of the autonomous was the simplest solution to meet the need for lighting. In addition, the Energy Transition and Green Growth Act and the Multiannual Energy Program (EPP Meeting) set the ambitious goal of increasing the share of renewable energies to 50% by 2020 and 100% in 2030 on the island. This project perfectly integrates this program.
